You will need to provide your sim card’s serial number.
- The serial number is the barcode at the back of your sim card
A photo of your ID/passport/asylum
- Take a full photo of your ID/passport/asylum
Make sure the photo is clear and that no corners are cut out
The photo must be of your original document, no copies will be allowed
Your document must be valid (not expired)
A photo of your proof of residence document not older than 3 months
- Any one of these documents will be accepted as proof of residence:
Utility bill; i.e. water, electricity or rates
Bank statement
Rental or lease agreement
Any retail store account
A telephone account, landline or cellular
TV License
Insurance policy
Affidavit
Your proof of residence document should not be older than 3 months.
Why is it necessary to RICA my SIM?
RICA stands for the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication Related Information Act. You need to RICA your sim before you can start using it. According to South Africa’s RICA legislation, the purpose of RICA is to help prevent criminal activity via mobile technology.
We can confirm that once your personal information and documents are received, we do not store or keep them. Once the validation is successful and the RICA process is complete, you are able to use your sim immediately.
